Fox News linked a report today from the Office of the National Director of Intelligence basically saying that we'll be going down as a dominant country by 2025:

When you click on the link to the actual report, or even go the DNI.GOV website, nothing works. Maybe it's just my browser, high traffic, I don't know...
I cant even begin to tell you how upsetting and backwards it is to even read something like this. America, and what it stands for is supposed to be a country of prosperity, and REAL hope and unity (not just the rhetorical version used for political expediency).
A report of this nature does nothing but hurt our country and people. It's the backwards-type propaganda and fear mongering put in place to that is going to SUPPRESS us from increasing the quality of our great nation. The sky should be the limit! Not the root of a "global warming catastrophe" that will kill your pets and babies if you drive an SUV. It's absurd.
I find it completely ridiculous - and uncalled for - that people whom call themselves Americans, and whose jobs are to represent the people continue to shove these fear tactics down the throats of our citizens. It's time America and Americans do something about it and SPEAK UP - before we are all censored from doing so! See: The Fairness Doctrine.
A nuclear Iran in 15-20 years?? They've enriched enough uranium for a bomb (as reported YESTERDAY) and need to be stopped immediately. Period. As in- today. Or would you prefer that they "wipe Israel off the face of the map" when they have the ability to do so? They say they are using it for energy but we know what they are doing. We have backbones as humans, lets use them folks.
Organized crime plaguing Russia? Wipe it out. There is no reason to sit back passively and let this unfold. People cry, whine, riot and protest a vote (which is supposed to be the deciding factor) banning a "defined definition" of marriage from being used for members of the same sex, but care less about organized crime, ethnic cleansing, the conditions in Africa, and global terrorism?
Global Warming?? Don't even get me started. Where is this so called global warming when I am warming my car up in 30 degree (20 with wind chill) weather?
I respect and appreciate Mr. Mike McConnell's service and dedication to his country, and thank him for it. But when you look at the FACTS, there IS NO MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING threat. Yes, the earth warms and cools itself as a part of it's natural state of being. The sun also plays a major role. But there's this funny thing called adaptation that we as a civilization have been doing for years. Just like when it rains or snows, we seek shelter. If farming conditions change, we will change with it. We cant stop or fix the planet from doing something, the insignificant "foot print" (that some people like to refer to) is just a grain of sand in the beach that is the history of it. WE ARE A PRODUCT OF THE EARTH. Not the other way around.
And the positive note that was added was that an alternative to oil might be in place by 2025? We could be well on our way to that alternative energy source if the government officials would stop keeping us from our own natural resources, right here on American soil.
That would do this funny little thing, like creating a surplus, drive prices to the ground, increase Americans ability to spend and flood the free market with money. Bailouts and handouts would be irrelevant because THERE WOULD BE NO ECONOMIC DOWNTURN.
These people, if you can call them that, who say they are "looking out for you" have no interest in anything other them themselves, their own well being, self-interests and political careers. By 2025 they will all be retired, living off of YOUR MONEY at an old age in their huge house and will have no concern over what the future holds for them because they "got theirs" and the best of everything while they spent their time on this planet stepping on the backs of the PEOPLE.
It's time the people unite and come together in the sake of our nation and the sake of common sense. It's WE THE PEOPLE...
